JJ Heller Shares the Story Behind New Song "Miracle"

JJ Heller has partner with her husband Dave and CCM artist Brandon Heath to pen her new song "Miracle." Heller shares the story behind this powerful song.

"It's been a crazy week (month/year) hasn't it? I've taken a break from social media this week to give more space to black voices (I'll start posting again tomorrow). I've been using the time to listen and learn more about their experience and recognize the things that need to change in my own heart. I pray that the tragic death of George Floyd could be the catalyst for a reformation of our thoughts, actions and perceptions of black citizens in our country. May God continue to break our hearts with the things that break His.

Yesterday I watched a beautiful story by Ariel Astoria on instagram that moved me to tears. In it she speaks about a simple act of kindness that meant the world to her. She reminds us that at our core, we all just want to be seen and heard. We need to be reminded of beauty, hope and joy now more than ever.

With that in mind, it's my prayer that my new song, Miracle, will help you feel that. Dave and I wrote it with Brandon Heath several months ago. When it comes down to it, every single one of us is a miracle. As my friend Taylor says, "Love Himself dreamed you up."
