Audrey Assad Addresses the Question of Our Self-Worth with New Song "The Middle"
Audrey Assad has released a new single entiled "The Middle." The song, a cover originnally recorded by Jimmy Eat World, addresses our lifelong quest. Where do you get your sense of self worth? The song advocates that we should not let our circumstances or others define our values. "The Middle" follows on the heels of Assad's critically acclaimed single "Shiloh."
Hey
Don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out
Or looked down on
Just try your best
Try everything you can
Don't you worry what they tell themselves
When you're away
Jimmy Eat World released the original version in November 2001 as the second single of their fourth album Bleed American. It was a number-five hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2002 and reached the top 50 in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
