The Barden Bellas are Back In Action With New Members and New Moves in "Pitch Perfect 2"
We really did miss them while they were gone....but good news: they're back! The stars of "Pitch Perfect 2" recently made an appearance on the Today Show to spill a few secrets about the highly anticipated sequel. You can watch their interview with host Natalie Morales here.
As fans will recall, the first "Pitch Perfect" ended on a high note (pun fully intended): the Barden Bellas had just won first place at Nationals, and it looked as though they were the ones now calling the shots on the acapella scene at Barden University. According to one of the film's stars and its director/producer Elizabeth Banks, "The Bellas have a new main rival this time around, and I will not say who they are. They've gotten too big for their britches, possibly literally. And they've sort of forgotten about the music a little bit."
However, the sequel will not let faithful fans down. There will be choreography to rival that of the first film, following four intense weeks of "Bella boot camp" for the aca-stars.
There is also rumored to be some stunt work, which was, for the most part, absent from the first film. Previous cast members Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, and Rebel Wilson will be reprising their original roles. They will be joined by newcomers Hailee Steinfeld, who will play a new member of the Barden Bellas, and Katey Sagal, who will play Hailee Steinfeld's mother.
"Pitch Perfect 2" will debut in American theaters on May 15, 2015.
