The 2014 FIFA World Cup host country Brazil matches up today (July 4) against Colombia for a chance to advance to the semi-final round You can watch the Brazil vs. Cameroon game live online from ESPN at 3 pm ET from Brazil HERE.
Brazil was expected one of the favorites coming into the 2014 World Cup tournament and while they have survived, have not looked dominant in their run thus far. Their match in the quarter-finals game today with opponent Colombia will be their toughest challenge yet. While Brazil advanced over Chile in a shoot out to make the quarterfinals, Colombia cruised past Uruguay and are looking like serious contenders to win the tournament. At this point, even with Brazil being at home, Colombia would have to be the slight favorite to win the match.
James Rodríguez will once again be at the heart of Colombia's attacking play against Brazil, who has been the best player in the World Cup so far. Brazil could struggle to keep their offense down in the absence of their defensive midfielder, Luiz Gustavo.
Neither team has any major injury concerns and both squads will likely be unchanged from the match today. The winner of this match heads to the semifinals against the winner of the France vs. Germany match.
Projected lineups:
Brazil (4-2-3-1): Júlio César; Marcelo, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves; Fernandinho, Paulinho; Hulk, Neymar, Oscar; Fred.
Colombia (4-2-3-1): David Ospina; Pablo Armero, Mario Yepes, Cristián Zapata, Juan Zúñiga; Carlos Sánchez, Abel Aguilar; Jackson Martínez, James Rodríguez, Juan Cuadrado; Teófilo Gutiérrez.
