Katharine McPhee Stars in 'Scorpion' on CBS Premiering Fall 2014, Watch Extended Look Trailer (VIDEO)
Katharine McPhee is set to star in the upcoming series "Scorpion" on CBS premiering on their Fall 2014 schedule. The series was written and produced by Nick Santora (Prison Break, Lie to Me) and Nicholas Wooten (Golden Boy, NYPD Blue) and directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious franchise). They have released their first extended look trailer, you can watch above.
Plot: An eccentric genius and his team join forces with a government agent to fight the new threats facing America in the digital age. Inspired by a true story, SCORPION is a quirky, humor-filled adrenaline rush that follows an eccentric genius and his network of nerdy prodigies. They operate as a think tank formed by Homeland Security, and their task: to deal with the complex threats of the modern age. Solving the most mind-boggling national issues comes naturally to them, but these socially awkward misfits can't seem to get out of their own way when it comes to life outside the laboratory.
McPhee stars as Paige Dineen, along with Elyes Gabel (Walter O'Brien), Eddie Kaye Thomas (Toby Curtis), Jadyn Wong (Happy Quinn), Ari Stidham (Sylvester Dodd) and Robert Patrick (Agent Cabe Gallo). Does "Scorpion" seem like a show that will catch on?
The 30-year-old actress rose to national attention for her singing as a contestant on Season 5 of the FOX hit reality show "American Idol" back in 2006. She came in second place that year to eventual winner, Taylor Hicks.
Katharine's self-titled debut album was released on RCA Records on January 30, 2007 and debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. She is expected to release a new album sometime in 2014 with Columbia Records.
