Alan Jackson Returns to #1 on Billboard's Christian Albums Chart

Alan Jackson is currently at #1 on Billboard Christian Albums chart for a second week in a row. Precious Memories Collection sits at #33 on Billboard's 200 chart; it is also the chart's biggest riser as the album jumps from 162-33 with 22,000 units (up 255 percent).
The album is supported nearly entirely by traditional album sales. The rise is owed to a big gain in sales through mail order and internet retailers, powered by direct-response TV ads that have been airing over the holiday season.
The Top Christian Albums coronation marks Jackson's third on the chart, as each prior Precious Memories installation topped the survey. The original Precious Memories debuted at the summit on March 18, 2006, and Precious Memories Volume ll bowed at No. 1 on April 13, 2013. (The sets peaked at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, on Top Country Albums.)
Re-released by Gaither Music, the new Precious Memories Collection, includes both LPs. It was originally a Walmart exclusive, starting at No. 17 on Top Christian Albums on Dec. 17, 2016. The combined effort has been in wide release since late August.
"It is a joy to partner with Alan Jackson on this DVD," stated Gaither Music Group founder and gospel music legend Bill Gaither. "As a songwriter, I really appreciate the beauty of a well-written song; and Alan has been showing the world for a long time how to write great songs. On this recording, he went back to songs that both of us treasure-hymns of the church-with lyrics that keep on inspiring us with their timeless messages."
