Neon Feather Releases First Single "The Long Way Home"
Centricity Music's newest artist, producer/programmer Neon Feather -aka Ben Thompson- has released "The Long Way Home," his first single through the label.
Featuring BEC recording artist David Dunn on vocals, "The Long Way Home" shows Neon Feather's skills as a producer and writer. He collaborated with Matt Hammitt (Sanctus Real) on the song, which is available at radio and on all major digital platforms.
"'The Long Way Home' is about looking at life as a scenic route-embracing the purpose and savoring the beauty," Neon says. "I feel like we can get so focused on our destination that we forget there's so much sweetness to take in and be a part of on the way."
Neon's passion for making electronic music developed when he discovered Garage Band at 14 years old. Eventually working his way onto the music scene, he became known for crafting innovative remixes across a variety of genres. Grounded in his faith, Neon found both personal fulfillment and professional achievement producing within CCM, crafting remixes for artists such as tobyMac, Lecrae, Capital Kings, Urban Rescue, and Britt Nicole. His Capital Kings "Fireblazin" collaboration was nominated for a 2015 Dove Award.
Centricity Music had been following Neon's work; when he took an interest in developing original songs, the label saw an exciting opportunity to partner with the talented producer. Neon first collaborated with Centricity in creating a remix of Jordan Feliz's No. 1 single ""The River" and went on to sign recording and publishing deals with the label in summer 2017.
"It feels great to have found myself in a team as awesome as Centricity," Neon said. "The sovereignty of God is fascinating as I see the way the Lord led me to this place and look forward to the future He holds."
Neon is now working on additional music. For more information, visit his Instagram page.
