Find Out Who the Nominees for the 2017 NAACP Image Awards Are
The nominees for the 2017 NAACP Image Awards have been announced. The Image Awards are presented by the American National Association for the Advancement of Colored People to honor outstanding people of color in film, television, music, and literature.
Winners will be announced at the ceremony to take place on February 11, 2017, 5:00 PM PST
In the Gospel music category, the nominees are:
Outstanding Gospel Album - (Traditional or Contemporary)
Jericho: Tribe of Joshua - Livre' (Glory 2 Glory Entertainment/RAL)
Myron Butler & Levi On Purpose - Myron Butler (Motown Gospel)
One Way - Tamela Mann (Tillymann, Inc.)
The Journey (Live) - Donnie McClurkin (RCA Inspiration)
Worship Journal Live - Fred Hammond (RCA Inspiration)
As for the other categories, Kim Burrell's "I See Victory" and Tamela Mann's "God Provides" are nominated for Outstanding Song - Traditional, which puts them up against Solange for "Cranes In The Sky" and Maxwell for "Lake By The Ocean". And in the Outstanding Song - Contemporary "Royalty" by Sounds of Blackness goes up against Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Common and more.
