Love Came Down Devotional
KARI JOBE·THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2016
Scriptures: Isaiah 53:3
Love came down and rescued me
Love came down and set me free
I am Yours, I am forever Yours
Mountains high or valley low
I sing out and remind my soulI am Yours, I am forever YoursOne of the most hurtful things a person can experience is rejection. Whether at work or from a friend, rejection is a painful, vivid feeling and in that moment, love can feel so far away. But here's what Isaiah 53:3 says, "He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him."It's a heartbreaking thing to realize that the Son of God, Jesus Himself, was rejected because "we did not esteem Him."
But today know this, He will never reject you. That's why I love the lyrics in this song because they remind us that love came down and rescued us, breaking our chains and setting us free. And friend, He knows what you're going through. He emphasizes with your hurt and today, He calls you His own. And nothing can ever take that away.
