Anthony Jawan's New Single "God Made Me" is Inspired By His 50-Pound Weight Loss Journey
Anthony Jawan has released his debut single "God Made Me." The song reminds listeners that despite their flaws they are fearfully and wonderfully made. No matter their inadequacies, God has made them and will sustain them on their journey.
The song came about when Jawan recognized that his body is his temple. Later, he developed healthier lifestyle habits through better eating and exercise. The end result was a 50-pound weight loss. With a fresh start in life and a healthier approach for his mind, body, and spirit; Anthony Jawan felt empowered to conquer his dreams.
The Chicago native's latest offering is not only meant to inspire others but is a personal testimony. After many years of serving as a background vocalist for the likes of R. Kelly, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, and Pattie Labelle among others Anthony decided to step out into the forefront and share the music that is in his heart. The road to fulfilling this dream required great faith for him, however. Anthony Jawan realized that he needed to make serious changes in order to fulfill the purpose God gave him. In 2013, the vocalist quit his three jobs in Chicago and moved to Los Angeles with only $800 and enrolled in the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in order to further his purpose.
After graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2014, Anthony Jawan took a residency in Osaka, Japan as a headlining performer with Universal Studios. During his time in Japan, he began recording music that is God-filled, heart-inspiring, and genre-bending. His single, "God Made Me" is sure to motivate listeners on their journey in life to purpose - the same way Anthony Jawan was motivated to push toward his own purpose and inspire others with message-based music.
"God Made Me" is available now on digital platforms including iTunes and AmazonMusic.
