Kari Jobe Attributes Darlene Zschech as Her Role Model

Kari Jobe has recently spoke of Darlene Zschech as her role model of what a Godly worship leader looks like. For some time, Jobe and Zschech have been close friends. Jobe even co-wrote with Zschech and Israel Houghton the former Hillsong matriarch's recent signature worship song "Victor's Crown." Jobe could also be seen singing on Zschech's latest live worship album and DVD "Revealing Jesus," and both ladies even sang together as a duet the Zschech penned paean "Yours Forever."
Recently while Zschech was speaking at a Songwriter's Conference in the US, Jobe was in attendance. The former Hillsong worship pastor's talk was so inspiration that Jobe re-committed herself to become a "true worshiper" herself. "She spoke on worship and had tons of notes on the podium and didn't even get to them all. I started thinking about how her whole life is worship and how she is the matriarch of worship as we know it today," Jobe wrote on her Facebook page.
According to the singer, Zschech pioneered how people worship God today because worship was quite different when she was younger. "I would watch every video (VHS at first, then DVD's) of her leading and just be inspired to be free like her. She inspired people to mean what we were singing and enter into His presence and press into Him. She was instrumental in changing the culture of worship to be more authentic and real," Jobe recalled.
During the worship session that truly touched the singer's heart, Zschech said worship leaders should really be called worship releasers because their job is to help people release their worship to God.
"We need to circumstance-proof our worship-not just worship when we feel like it or only when things are in a good place. Always worship. She also said not to stay silent-open our mouths and worship. Be intentional and honest, worship from a place of truth. These are the kind of worshippers He's looking for," she added.
