Finding Favour Shares with Hallels Details to Their Debut Album "Reborn"
Finding Favour has just released their first full album, Reborn, in stores and online on June 23, 2015. Produced by Casey Brown (Love & the Outcome, All Things New), the new project shows the maturity and growth of Finding Favour since they first signed with Gotee Records in 2012. Reborn features 10 new songs that were co-written by the group, along with a reprise of their Top 25 National Christian Audience chart hit, "Say Amen."
Hallels: Thank you guys for doing this interview with us. What's the story behind your group name "Finding Favour"?
Dustin: The name Finding Favour comes from Proverbs 3 and it says if we live by Gods word and His commandments we will we find favor with God and man.
Hallels: "Reborn," I believe is your first ever full-length album as a group, why has it taken that long to get the album out?
Allen: Finding Favour has worked hard the last few years trying to find the right songs. In the past, we've had a lot of songs that stretched across several genres. We've just been waiting on the ones we felt spoke to us in a way where we could have no questions if they should be on the album or not. We didn't want to just put fillers on a record. We truly wanted this project to be one where people could say from track 1 to 11 every song spoke to them in a special way.
Hallels: I have been listening to your album and I love it! I must say I appreciate that you've covered various styles on this record, I especially love the more rustic "Tiny Town." Is this song autobiographical?
Allen: Very much so. We grew up in very small communities so the song 'Tiny Town' is a page out of our own personal books.
Hallels: Let's talk about your single "Cast Your Cares." For our readers who may not have heard it, tell us more about this song.
Dustin: 'Cast My Cares' is a song that is straight from the Bible. It doesn't matter if its financial struggles, if someone received a bad medial report, has anxiety, or worry, the Lord says lay it all at my feet, cast all of your cares on Him.
Hallels: On the song "Feels Like the First Time," you mentioned George Strait. Are you a fan of Strait by any chance?
Allen: Ha ha. Absolutely. He's the king of country! I grew up listening to nothing but country music and didn't really know that any other genre of music existed until I got into high school. I'm just kidding, but 90% of the music I listened to was country. I'm still jealous that my mom has seen Strait in concert and I haven't.
Hallels: For our readers who would like to purchase "Reborn" or/and find out more about you, where can they go?
