Russell Wolfe, Producer of "God's Not Dead," Is Asking for Prayers and Donations to Fight ALS

Russell Wolfe, one of the producers of the movie "God's Not Dead," was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neurone disease, in December 2013, and has amassed over $390,000 in medical costs.
"Over the past 14 months, I've lost the majority of my ability to speak clearly, use my legs, arms, or my hands," read signs held by Wolfe in a Facebook video. "In short, I've lost the ability to care for my most basic needs.
"One thing I have not lost is my faith," his message continued. "It's stronger than ever before."
On December 11, 2013, Russell was diagnosed with terminal ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease). ALS is a progressive terminal neurodegenerative condition that takes away the ability for one's muscles to work. Russell's ALS first began to affect his fine motor movements, then his speech and now his ability to walk. In the midst of their family's prime, Russell's ALS progression has cost much more than just his neurodegenerative downturn visual to those around him. Russell (and wife Alysoun and kids) is slowly being stripped of virtually everything, eventually leading to his inability to walk, to talk, and to connect. It will ultimately cost him his hopes and dreams.
Russell's brain, however, continues its ability to think and reason and remains as sharp as ever. Russell knows what he is up against. His continued positive outlook, he says, comes from deep faith.
There are two ways we can help the Wolfe family. First, please pray that God will use this for good, and that God will provide strength and protection to this amazing family as they journey through this storm and beyond.
Second, please consider making a financial contribution to this fund today. All contributions will go towards helping Russell, his wife Alysoun, and their two young children, as they make arrangements today to face challenges on their rapidly progressing ALS journey.
The producer's Facebook video has been shared more than 34,000 times, and more than $30,000 has been raised. Donations can be made here.
