John Darin Rowsey of the Guardians Welcomes His First Grandson
John Darin Rowsey of The Guardians, along with his wife, Shirley, are proud to announce the birth of their grandson, Cullum Ray Rowsey. Cullum was born to parents Michael & Bridget Rowsey on February 25, 2015 at approximately 6 PM. He weighed 6 lbs. and 15 oz.
John Darin comments: "Our son, Michael Shade Rowsey and daughter-in-law Bridget, have made us grandparents of our first grandson. It's hard to believe that you can fall head over heels in love this fast! We thank God for giving us a healthy boy. Father, Mother, and Son are doing well."
Formed in 1988 by Gospel Quartet greats Dale Uhrig and Harold Patrick, along with members Neil Uhrig, Dean Hickman and the amazing talents of Elba Heilman on the bass guitar, The Guardians Quartet began their weekend ministry of singing in churches, mostly in the central Ohio area. With God's blessing, the ministry expanded tremendously over the last two and a half decades.
After the first few cassette recordings (remember those?), The Guardians Quartet ministry grew to annual stops at several churches around Ohio, Michigan, Florida and Texas. At this time The Guardians Quartet added Road Manager/Bus Driver Tony Ackley who has been phenomenal in working behind the scenes to get them where they need to be and take care of all the extras.
In 2001, the Lord called Harold home and in 2013 the awesome Deacon who stepped in to fill his shoes, Homer Fry, passed away. At the same time, Elba decided to retire. But with the Lord's perfect timing, He brought them the multi-talented John Darin Rowsey. John Darin has brought a new sound, new original music, and has been a tremendous asset to the group, which has become known as "The Guardians." The Guardians are completing their 20th recording, produced by the legendary Lari Goss, and will be distributed in November 2014. They have enjoyed several hits on the Singing News Top 40 charts and can be heard all over the country. They may even be at a venue close to you!
God has truly blessed The Guardians' ministry. The Guardians are grateful for their family, friends and fans who have supported and encouraged them along this incredible and joyful journey.
