23 Jump Street Medical School Release Date, Plot News, Rumors And Latest Reveals: Hints Of A Sequel To "22 Jump Street" Surface Strongly Suggesting There Could Be Another Installment
We have the latest for you on the release date, plot news, rumors and latest reveals of 23 Jump Street. Although there have been media reports saying that there is a sequel to "22 Jump Street" currently in production. However, Channing Tatum clarified that there have been no final plans for a follow up to the comedy film. The end of "22 Jumps Street" might have suggested that there could be another installment following along with costar Jonah Hill who is a cop buddy in the films. A mock sequel showed "23 Jump Street: Medical School" with tagline, "Turn your head and cough." The Tatum-Hill, however, may not be reprising their roles for the third time.
According to Christian Today, Tatum was engaged in an interview with USA Today and said, "I feel like that would be a cop-out. College was obvious next step for us. We had to go there. I don't know what the next step is after college. Do we go and take down Enron? Or the government in D.C.? I feel like it's all redundant," as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The summer 2014 comedy raked in $35 million on opening in North America. The film has been directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Tatum went ahead to say, "The big running joke of the second movie is this is just going to be bigger... than the first time." He added, "I don't know if that joke works three times, so we'll see."
The TV series has been drawn out from the 1980s and it stars Johnny Depp, the first film in the franchise, "21 Jump Street, "had Tatum playing as the rebellious cop Jenko. As a popular student back in high school, Jenko is sent back to do an undercover assignment alongside his partner Schmidt, which is played by Hill. The story line of "22 Jump Street" follows the same approach although this time; it is carried out in a college setting. The first "Jump Street" had a budget of $42 million and it managed to earn $201 million. The second sequel of the movie had a budget of $50 million and it raked $327 million at the global box office.
It is still uncertain whether there will be a third sequel of the movie. Stay with us for more information.
