iOS 8.1 Release Date and Time: Features That Your Should Know About
When Apple rolled out their new operating system a month ago, they thought that it will be one of the most popular versions in their history, but things soon got bad with so many users complaining about the device's performance decreasing dramatically. The adoption rate for iOS 8 was so low that till now users have not upgraded and chose to follow expert's advice to wait for 8.1.
According to Forbes, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering,, Craig Federighi had announced the update availability a couple of days back and Apple quietly rolled it out on Monday at around 10 am all across the world. Several users have finally upgraded the operating system and believe that it is working just fine with almost all of the problems gone away.
Talking of the features, Apple engineers have included some pretty cool things in iOS 8.1 and Apple Pay is probably the most important addition here. This technology is believed to kill wallets in the coming years helping users receive and send money with just a swipe and Touch ID. With the help of NFC chips, iPhone can now scan debit and credit cards and store the information on Apple Passbook. However, for now, this technology is only available on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Apple has also built on iMessages and now it is possible to send and receive text messages from almost any devices running on this operating system. In fact, even when Yosemite Macs are paired with iPhone, it can be used to view and reply to text messages.
According to iLounge online magazine, iCloud Photos are also an important addition in the new operating system update. Although it was already there in the original iOS 8 update, users can now manage photos and even store everything on iCloud. It synchronizes everything is OS X and users can access their stuff from any part of the world. Even when the device is lost or damaged, there is no need to worry about the important pictures of friends and family. Other than that, Apple has also provided some Dictation settings, AirPlay Mirroring and more.
