Vijay's 'Kaththi' Coming this October 23, Bollywood Fanatics Waits No Longer
Following the very successful release of "Thuppakki" back in 2012, Illayathalapathy Vijay returns to the big screen in his upcoming movie, "Kaththi," to be released on India's Diwali, October 23. The movie is being directed again by Thuppakki's director AR Murugadoss. Fans of the film will be able to see a new love team featuring Samantha and Vijay.
From Bollywood Life, Kaththi's soundtrack features chart topping music from Anirudh Ravichander. Meanwhile, issues regarding Lyca Productions have started to wane along with the dropping of AR Murugadoss' charges.
Additional information from IBTimes India, the recent Lyca Productions issues surfaced when Tamil groups wanted to oppose the film, declaring that the said production had associations with the close family of the President of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapakse. The said Tamil groups have filed a case against Lyca Productions, but the verdict of the judge stated that no interference will be made due to the clearance of the film by the censor board.
However, there are still several groups who oppose the release of the Kaththi. Despite this, Ayngaran International, the co-producers of the film, have announced that there will be no change Kaththi's release date of Diwali.
Some movie theatres have already started advancing reservations for the film, while global advanced booking will begin on October 19 and the film is estimated to be shown in over 1,500 screens worldwide. Along with the anticipation of the movie and Diwali, the trailer of the movie was just posted online on YouTube.
Illayathalapathy Vijay will be playing two roles in Kaththi. One is Kadiresan and the other is Jeevanandham. Based on the trailer, the movie's theme will revolve around political disputes.Fans are not that thrilled by the trailer though, as said in India. The visuals were nothing compared to "Shankar Ai's" teaser. But, the 2012 blockbuster Thuppaki's trailer was not also that great, but it still raked a lot of fans and positive reviews all over the world.
The film's cinematography was done by George C Williams, while it is produced by A. Subashkaran. Kaththi got a very outstanding U rating from India's regional censor board and is said that the film has qualified for an exemption in the entertainment tax.
