Iron Man 4 News, Reveals, Rumors and Updates: Movie Still in Question but Downey Jr Claims Enthusiasm for Next Installment
Is there going to be another addition to the sequel that is Iron Man 4? Well, when interviewed in July by Variety, actor Robert Downey Jr. gave the fans a glimmer of hope that he would be more than interested if the opportunity presented itself. However, when interviewed by David Letterman on the Late Night show he insisted that there were no plans of another Iron Man. He has recently left the fans even more confused while on Ellen's show. When asked that very question he answered that there is indeed another Iron Man movie in the works.
Iron man is more than a movie, it is a franchise and it is the highest selling series to date making Downey the most expensive actor in Hollywood right now. However, it seems all good things come to an end. It has been rumored that the man we have come to know and love as Iron man might be leaving Marvel Cinematic Universe; his two year contract is finally over, he is pushing 50 years old, he has already played the role five times not counting his role in Avengers, maybe it is time for him try something different and more challenging.
We all know that the concept Iron man is adopted but what we did not know was that in the comic Tony Stark has a brother. So maybe all is not lost. If indeed he has a brother in the comic who is to say that he could have a brother that takes over in the movies? Regardless if Downey was to act in another Iron Man movie we would all have to wait till 2018 to watch it. Which might also be the reason as to why Iron Man 3 might have been his last; 2018 will find Downey in his fifties and he might have to pass along that role to one of his juniors. The reason as to why we would have to wait so long is with so many action packed movies on the screen right now, Marvel is choosing to shelve some of its movies forcing us to wait till May 2015 for the Avengers ;Age of the Ultron.
