Google Nexus 9: Review of Features and Launching
Multinational company, Google, has already announced its Nexus 9 and launched silently last Oct. 15. The new tablet is 8.9 inches and is one of the first devices to have the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. The other two devices are the Nexus 6 smartphone and Nexus Players streaming-media box. The slat will be available in three colors - white, black, and sand or light brown.
Expertreviews lists the specifications for the Nexus 9, which include brushed metal sides, an 8.9-inch, 2,048 x 1,536 pixels per inch screen, which is made up of Gorilla Glass 3. The screen comes with a "double tap to wake" feature in order to power the tablet on. The device also has a 2GB of RAM. The customers are also free to choose between 16GB and 32GB internal storage memory. The device has been integrated with a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and a Kepler GPU for as its power sources. At the back of it is an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus feature and LED flash. On the front part is a 1.6 megapixel camera. It also has NFC and Bluetooth 4.1.
Its massive 6,700 mAh battery reflects a battery life of about nine hours even if browsing the internet using wi-fi and about 8.5 hours if using LTE browsing. For video playback battery life, 9.5 hours is given. The tablet also has dual microphones, a micro-USB port, 3.5 mm audio, plus dual front-facing speakers with HTC BoomSound. The Nexus 9 dimensions measure 153.68mm long by 7.95mm wide by 228.25 millimeters high. It weighs 425 grams.
Google's official website also reveals that Nexus 9 can also be used with a magnetically attached keyboard, which is separately sold. This labels the new device as a hybrid of a tablet and a laptop. The integration with the keyboard is for people to be able to do their stuffs whenever and wherever they want.
The device has also reached India and the 16GB model is priced at Rs 28,900 ($471.8) while the 32GB model is to be sold at Rs 44,900 ($732), according to the International Business Times.
Google Nexus 9 is set to launch on Nov. 3, 2014. However, re-orders opened to the customers last Oct. 16. The prices begin at $399, with the actual UK pricing yet to be announced later on.
