“Give Me You” by Me’Kayla Climbs to #3 on Billboard Gospel Airplay

Rising Motown Gospel artist Me'Kayla is celebrating a major milestone as her heartfelt worship single "Give Me You" reaches #3 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart, marking her highest chart position to date and cementing her status as one of Gospel music's brightest new voices.
Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, and now a student at Tennessee State University, Me'Kayla (full name Me'Kayla Smith) has been capturing hearts with her soulful vocals and raw authenticity. Discovered in high school by gospel legend Kim Burrell and later signed to Motown Gospel, she has quickly established herself as a fresh yet timeless force in the genre.
Released in late 2024, "Give Me You" is a stirring worship ballad that highlights Me'Kayla's ability to fuse classic gospel emotion with a contemporary edge. Written by Tia Pittman alongside Phillip Bryant and Justin Pearson, the song's powerful refrain-"Give me You, everything else can wait"-has resonated deeply with listeners across radio and streaming platforms. Me'Kayla herself has described recording the track as an emotional and tearful moment, reflecting her personal prayer for God's presence above all else.
The single follows her debut EP Prelude and earlier release "Werking" (featuring ChurchPPL), showcasing her range from church-rooted praise to youth-infused gospel innovation. In addition to her solo work, Me'Kayla contributed to Tennessee State University's The Urban Hymnal, the Grammy-winning project that made history as the first-ever HBCU band album to win in the Roots Gospel category.
With "Give Me You" soaring on radio and audiences rallying around her sound, Me'Kayla is preparing for the release of her first full-length album-what she calls her most personal and defining project yet. Fans can expect more soul-stirring worship songs that reflect both her deep faith and her fresh Gen-Z perspective.
