Fantasia Barrino is Committed to Release Her Debut Gospel Album

Grammy-winning vocalist and the 2004 winner of American Idol, Fantasia Barrino is currently working on her debut gospel album, marking a significant return to her spiritual roots. This project has been a long time coming, as Fantasia has shared that she felt called by God to create a gospel album for years but had been hesitant to pursue it.
In a heartfelt video posted to social media, she expressed her readiness to answer this calling, stating, "God has been telling me to do a gospel album for years, and I've been running. But the world right now is dark, it's a lot going on... And so I want to give my Father, who's been so good to me, back what he deserves" .
The first single from the upcoming album, titled "Have Your Way," was introduced with a powerful live performance on "American Idol," the show that launched her career in 2004. Backed by a gospel choir, Fantasia's rendition received a standing ovation from the judges and was met with widespread acclaim.
While the full details of the album, including its title and release date, have not been announced, Fantasia's commitment to this project reflects her desire to share her faith and musical gifts with the world. Fans can look forward to a collection of songs that resonate with her personal journey and spiritual devotion.
The North Carolina native has deep gospel roots. She grew up singing gospel and has teased audiences at her R&B concerts with gospel medleys. She even performed with her mother, Diane Barrino, in a Thanksgiving special on BET's Bobby Jones Gospel. Fantasia has not shared a release date for her aforementioned gospel album.
In addition to the album, Fantasia has also announced plans for a new podcast titled "Flowerchild," which aims to celebrate and empower women.
For those interested in experiencing Fantasia's gospel performances, a YouTube playlist featuring her renditions of classics like "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," "Precious Lord," and "Necessary" is available YouTube.
