Steven Curtis Chapman Celebrates Mother’s Day With “Speed Of Love”

"Speed of Love" is a heartfelt song by Steven Curtis Chapman as a tribute to his mother, Judy, in honor of Mother's Day. The song was shared publicly following the news that Judy's cancer had returned after 25 years in remission. Chapman expressed his desire to honor her strength and love through this musical piece.

The lyrics of "Speed of Love" paint a vivid picture of Judy's daily life, highlighting her selfless acts and unwavering kindness. From preparing meals early in the morning to offering comfort to those in need, the song emphasizes how she lives life at the "speed of love." The chorus reinforces this theme, celebrating her heart that "beats at the speed of love."
Chapman writes, "Some of you may remember hearing this song I wrote about my mom & shared around Mother's Day last year. Well, I'm very excited to finally be releasing `Speed of Love' into the world as we know it!
"Besides hopefully bringing a smile again to my sweet mom's face and reminding her how thankful I am for her and the ways she's impacted my life and the lives of so many, it's also my hope that the song resonates with you and encourages all of us who are blessed to still have our moms with us to hug them tight and "love on them" well during this Mother's Day season. Thank you, Mom, for showing me what it looks like to live at the `Speed of Love.'"
As of now, "Speed of Love" has not been included in any of Chapman's studio albums. It was released independently, with full recording rights held by the artist under Provident Entertainment.
