Q: Thanks for doing this interview with us. Let's start with yourselves, who are the DREAMERS?
Thank YOU so much for doing this interview with US! Dreamers is made up of a collective of songwriters who serve in our local youth ministry at Influencers Church in Australia. We believe that everyone is a dreamer! We're passionate about building up and equipping the next generation of dreamers to chase after their God given dreams. Our desire is to create music specifically for this generation.
Q: What is your relationship with Influencers Church and the worship team Futures?
Influencers Church is our home and Futures are our big brothers and sisters!
Q: How would you describe your sound that makes you stand out as a collective?
A few words that come to mind are fun, authentic and raw. We want our music to be an anthem that empowers the next generation of the church so creating music that young people can relate to and that encourages them to live in their God-given purpose is what will continue to direct and shape our sound.
Q: Talk to us about your upcoming EP. Why did you call the project "Land of the Living"?
The title Land of the Living is based on Psalm 27. David was someone who understood depression, anxiety, rejection, abandonment, and disappointment. But in verse 13 he says, "Yet I am confident I will see the Lord's goodness while I am here in the land of the living."
This is our prayer for the teenagers in our ministry and for anyone who listens to this EP - that no matter what they are facing they can take courage and know that God is good and His goodness is here during our time on earth, even in the midst of trouble.
Q: What does the title track and current single mean to you? And why are you excited about it?
The song was written out of a revelation of Psalm 27:13. One of our writers wanted to write about her experience with depression and anxiety, knowing that so many young people today are experiencing similar struggles with mental illness. The verse transformed her perspective on her mental health and is a powerful declaration. It's not just about the struggle; the words magnify God's goodness during the battle. It's about taking authority. We've already heard so much about what it's meant for people in our youth ministry and we can't wait to continue to share the heart of this song.
Q: What are some of the highlights from this new EP that fans can look forward to?
They can look forward to having a BOP to the music, experiencing the sense of joy that we carry as a youth ministry, and raw & honest lyrics founded in the Word of God.
Q: What is your dream (pun intended) for the team and the music that you create?
We see what you did there! Our dream is to write worship music that will help young people declare the truth of God's Word over any situation in their life. We believe that worship is a weapon and we want to equip them to fight the battles they face and shape their confession from worry, doubt, insecurity, to anthems of joy and victory.
