The Sony Xperia Z3v is the Verizon version of the Sony Xperia Z3, according to International Business Times. Based on the specs, features and even the price of these two smartphones, there are very noticeable differences although they also share many similarities.
With regards to the design, Phone Arena reports that the Xperia Z3v looks quite different from the Z3. In fact the Z3v looks more like the previous Z2. The Z3v smartphone's body has an aluminum finish.
The Xperia Z3 and Z3v do share the same display size at 5.2 inch and resolution at 1080 x 1920p. Both Xperia models have the IPS TRILUMINOS display. Both of these models are waterproofed. The Xperia Z3v has both IP65 and IP68 certification. The Xperia Z3 is IP68 certified.
The rear camera for Xperia Z3 is a 20.7 MP resolution. Official announcement has yet to be made if the Xperia Z3v has the same capacity. The Xperia Z3 camera is equipped with an RS sensor as well as a LED Flash. The Z3 has 4K video record quality.
The battery for the Xperia Z3v is capable of wireless charging, The Fuse Joplin reports. This is a feature that is not present in the Z3. As a result of this feature, the Z3v has a bulkier chassis than the ordinary Z3.
The OS for these two models is the Android 4.4 KitKat. The Z3 and the Z3v both have the same processor from Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 801 running at 2.5 GHz. They are powered with 3GB of RAM and have the graphic processor Adreno 330.
Another feature that these two models share is the Sony Remote Play Service. This is an exclusive service for PS4 players. It lets console players switch to the Z3 or Z3v and resume playing the game without any interruption. PS4 gamers can also use their dual shock 4 controllers on the handsets. Both the Z3 and Z3v can handle graphic intensive games or applications. The Xperia Z3 has two built in storage options, the 16 GB and 32 GB. The Z3v comes only with a built in storage of 16 GB and microSD slot for additional memory.
