'Boardwalk Empire' Recap: Nucky Either Stops or Moves On
Boardwalk Empire is an American period crime drama television series, based on the book Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City written by Nelson Johnson.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Executive producer Howard Korder, who also wrote the episode, linked the 19th century flashbacks to Nucky's present conflicts. The episode last week entitled, "King of Norway", is considered one of the season's best episode. However, the next episode, "Devil You Know" was the most critical. The show is now heading into its last two episodes with Nucky Thompson. Nucky will also have an upcoming conflict with Meyer Lansky and Charlie Luciano. It usually happens at the conclusion of every season. The second season of the series was between Nucky and his apprentice before, Jimmy Darmody. In the third season, it is between him and Gyp Rosetti. Then the fourth season is about Nucky and his own brother, Eli. It is likely that Nucky Thompson will experience the same destiny as the fellow cable-TV villain Walte White is dominating at this point.
The episode starts with Nucky as missing, but the reality is he is trying to escape from external evil. The gangster's gone within that night in order to attempt removing all the aches away. In 1987, the yung Nucky is still in his attempt to gain respect. However, the young lad is to become a father. His wife Mabel is now conceiving a baby. In Nucky's history, it is known that Eleanor breathes her last breath in child labor.
Nucky is also having flashback moments. Such moments serve to bridge the gaps to the knowledge with already know. There is a thief in the neighborhood. This thief is a boy. Then Nucky manages to catch him and he finds out that the thief is not a boy, it is actually a girl named Gillian. Nucky takes her, since he is the Deputy Sheriff.
Nucky also goes into a bar in his disguise as a casual salesperson from Missouri. This is to get away from the people and his pain. He hooks up with two women later.
In a report in Hitfix, it is revealed that they might be an unfavorable outcome for Nucky Thompson. According to Collider, there are two options in front of Nucky. One is to let the wrongs of the past eat him and the other is to rise up and move on.
What will happen to Nucky and the other characters?
