Transformers 5 News and Updates: Sequel Has Been Green-Lighted and a Release Date Has Been Announced!

After the success of the 4^th installment of the Transformers franchise starring Mark Wahlberg, fans still wanted more, which made it possible for the 5^th Transformers installment to be released soon in 2016.

Transformers 5 movie has been made possible due to the box-office success of the past franchise which includes the latest one, Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction (though the latest one didn't do well on critics.)

Yet it's still too soon to ask questions such as, who will be the Transformers 5 characters? What will the plot be about? Maybe soon we'll find out. Here are some major possibilities on the sequel according to Cinema Blend that we're going to break down for you:

The Transformers 5 cast, who could they possibly be? Will Wahlberg's character Cade Yeager will continue? There's a big maybe to that since he didn't view the movie as a sequel but a 'stand-alone thing'. Michael Bay had passed the baton to another director to focus on other projects. But who knows? There's always a possibility that they'd change their minds. Maybe there's a surprise like Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox coming back right?

As for the release date though, Paramount will have to quickly make their decision since the release date has been announced. Paramount Pictures International SVP Edward Ryan confirmed the Transformers 5 release date will be on June 24, 2016. The process of filming will begin with the screenwriter where they have picked Ehren Kruger. They are looking at a Transformers 5 plot about the future adventures of the Autobots and the Decepticons.
