MacBook Air 2014 News and Updates: Reports Say Delayed Due to Unavailability of Core M Processor from Intel but Rumors Speculate an October 16 Release
Speculations are milling around that the MacBook Air 2014 will be released this Thursday, October 16, 2014. This Apple event will somehow coincide with the release of iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 and the OS X Yosemite, according to reports by Christian Post.
The new MacBook, also called MacBook Air Retina, will highlight a 12-inch Retina display. It will come in gold, silver and space grey colors.
Because the MacBook Air 2014 is so slim, Apple had to switch to a reversible USB type C connector, this according to a 16-year old blogger, who claimed to have a reliable source from inside Apple.
The laptop is said to be 9mm thin and will use Intel's new core M processor. And because it so thin, this processor will not be needing any fans inside.
The Core M chips will be Apple's basis for the announcement of MacBook Air 2014 as the chips were supposed to be released early 2014 but was later on delayed until December of this year.
Intel, on the other hand, released a statement that the "broader OEM" will be available by early next year. With that said, MacBook Air 2014 could well then be released early 2015.
Anyhow, we will keep you posted on any other MacBook Air 2014 updates and news we can seek.
