PopGun Entertainment is Coming to Nashville
PopGun Entertainment is a new, full service company that offers artist development and music production. Starting in January 2014, will also host live artist development events in Nashville, Tennessee, which has a huge presence in all genres of music.
One of the biggest parts of PopGun's success is their relationship with music industry professionals. The company is already frequently being contacted by managers and A&R reps that are looking for new talent. The monthly artist development events will serve as a bridge to the artist and the industry, allowing up and coming artists and bands the opportunity to network and learn from legitimate industry professionals. At the same time, the events provide a place for booking agents, label executives and artist managers to meet, mentor and potentially move forward professionally with acts they otherwise wouldn't have known about.
PopGun Entertainment's official Artist Development Event premier is scheduled for January 26-27, 2014 at The Rutledge, 410 4th Avenue South, Nashville, TN.
Lindsey and Dustin Kirkendall, PopGun founders, bring a lot of experience to the table. The husband and wife team have both spent close to a decade working in the music industry. Lindsey got her start at age 14, working as an actress in California. She moved to Nashville in 2005 to pursue music. She performed at various venues and churches, recorded demos and sang back ground vocals for other artists while writing songs with folks like Natalie Hemby, Eric Paslay, Jessica Campbell and Nathan Brumley. Currently the Creative Director and Editor of CCM Indie, an independent artist resource published in conjunction with CCM Magazine, she has also worked as part of the management team at Patton House Entertainmen. Dustin, a musician as well, moved to Nashville in 2004 at the advice of producer Dann Huff. Dann took him to sessions with Faith Hill, Leann Rimes, Trace Adkins, Wynona Judd, Kenny Rodgers, to name a few, and Dustin started learning how the recording process works from the ground up. He found himself on the road, playing in several different bands alongside players from major acts such as: One Republic, The Fray, Rebecca Saint James and Tonic. After a few years on the road, he decided to get the final piece of the puzzle and went back to school to complete his degree in audio engineering. Finishing at the top of his class, he was immediately offered a position at Anarchy Studios when he graduated. He opened PopGun Studios and began working independently as a producer, engineer and studio musician. The small studio has now grown into PopGun Entertainment.
