This is a game developed by Monolith Productions is set in The Lord of the Rings Universe and is to bridge the gap between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings saga. The action role playing video game is developed for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows platforms. The game was originally set to be released set to be released on October 7^th 2014, but since its development was finished early, it has been moved to September 30^th 2014 although in Australia the release dates remain the same for all platforms, October 8^th 2014.

The game written by J.R.R. Tolkien introduces gamers to the life of a ranger of Gondor who is responsible for guarding the black gate of Mordor, Talion. The character is killed by the armies of Sauron but is later brought back to life to exact his revenge upon the armies and Sauron. On normal occasions that would not be so easy but considering that when he was revived he came back with Wraith-like abilities, this would be relatively easy for him except maybe when it came to facing the legend Sauron. The story just like the movies involves ring of powers but it is very separate to The Lord of the Rings Canon. The Monolith team is also closely working with the Middle-earth Enterprises, Peter Jackson and the artist of Weta Workshop to ensure that the characters, setting and storyline are closely aligned with the two films from which it gets its inspiration.

The game is highly anticipated because of its great storyline that revolves around the two epic film instalments The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. We get to see the brilliant story from a different person's point of view as it introduces us to the bits about the movies we were unable to see in the two film instalments. Fans eagerly wait for the release of the game as it helps the relive the wonderful experiences of The Lord of the Rings world.
