The Expendables 4 Release, Latest News: New Cast Will Include Dwayne Johnson, Jacky Chan, Pierce Brosnan, Steven Seagal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Robert De Niro?
The Expendables 4 movie is confirmed for go. As things now stand, producer Avi Lerner as well as director, writer and star Sylvester Stallone are already hard at work trying to put together the final cast for the fourth installment in the franchise ensemble action film series.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson admitted that he'd be open to an offer but would prefer to play the villain. Through Reddit's AMA (Ask Me Anything), he tweeted, "If you're asking if I would consider being in the EXPENDABLES franchise - then the answer is yes. BUT.. I don't want to be on their team and be buddies with them. F*ck that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down and tell them to "send your soul to heaven cause your ass is mine." Rousey lives cause she'd be my characters training partner and Crews lives as well cause my character would need someone to compete at pec popping with."
Pierce Brosnan told Coming Soon that he would want to do Expendables 4. He said that in a talk back in March, "I said to Avi Lerner, 'If it works out and you have a good script, Avi, you know where to find me if you still want me.' It's as simple as that really. I had a grand time in his company. Sylvester Stallone is the one that's given us these wonderful platforms for actors who have and had careers to go play and have fun and to entertain. To bring a bunch of guys together who saved the world, fought the bad guys, and put them all on the same stage, that's crazy good."
Jackie Chan, in an interview with Den of Geek, confirmed that he was already asked by Stallone to do the movie and he said "'Okay.' Because they already asked me to be in 2 and 3, but I refused. Well, I didn't refuse, but I said, 'Sly, can't we just do you and me? Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.' Because then the audience is, 'Oh!' And then I'm gone."
Steven Segal, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Hulk Hogan, and Mr. T, along with Robert De Niro, are all reportedly in talks to join the cast of Expendables 4.
Harrison Ford will likely be returning to reprise his role as Mr. Max Drummer, the Expendables' CIA contact.
And of course, the rest of the cast of the last Expendables movie are all expected to be back as well - Stallone, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Kellan Lutz, Glen Powell, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, Terry Crews, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
