NEEDTOBREATHE To Headline The Fandana Music And Arts Festival
Christian rock band, NEEDTOBREATHE, is set to headline the third annual Fandana Music and Arts Festival from August 2- 4 at Huntington University in Indiana. The band will be performing on the Fandana Red Stage on Saturday, August 3.
NEEDTOBREATHE is lead by brothers Bo and Bear Rinehart and released their most recent album, 'The Reckoningm,' in 2011. The band won this years Dove Awards for Group of the Year and Rock/ Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, as well as the award for Rock/ Contemporary Album of the Year for the third year in a row.
The full line-up of other performers has not yet been posted, however, Matt Maher and Citizen Way have been confirmed among the 50 plus artists who will be performing during the festival.
The festival began in 2011, and has since expanded from only two stages to at least four, adding more performers and activities throughout the festival as well. It features an independent film festival, two theaters, art exhibits, inflatable games, an archery field, hot air balloon rides, comedians, a 5k Fun Run, street performers, exhibits, venders a kids area and more. The festival celebrates music, art, film, knowledge and life in general. Lodging options are camping or staying in a dorm.
The theme for the film festival this year is 'stories.' Submissions are being accepted within the categories of narrative, documentary, animation and a special category for high school students. Prizes for the best films range from $300- $500 and the chance to have your film shown on the main stage jumbotron in front of thousands of people. The late deadline for submissions are due June 15, with a fee of $30. The extended deadline is July 1, with a $35 fee.
Tickets are being sold until July 7 with day passes at $29 for adults full event passes at $48 for adults and $10 for children. Additional fees apply for ordering tickets online. There are also additional costs for campsites and dorm lodging. The schedule for this year's festival is not yet posted.
