Jordan Smith’s "The People’s Hymnal" DVD Available Now

Jordan Smith, the soaring vocalist who first captivated America as the Season 9 winner of The Voice, brings his most personal project to living rooms everywhere starting today. The brand-new DVD edition of The People's Hymnal, recorded live at Bill Gaither's studio in Alexandria, Indiana, is out now via Gaither Music. The TV special premieres this weekend on major networks, airing Friday, July 25 on RFD-TV at 8:00 PM, and Saturday, July 26 on TBN at 8:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Full TV viewing schedule is here. Streaming on GaitherTV+ will follow.
The People's Hymnal DVD features songs from Smith's acclaimed album of the same name - a dynamic collection of Gospel standards that reimagines beloved hymns with contemporary artistry, bridging the sacred and the soulful. (Purchase The People's Hymnal CD and DVD package here.)
A decade after winning The Voice, Smith calls this collection the most honest expression of who he is as both an artist and a believer. "I made this record for myself," Smith says. "This time, the only concern was, 'How would Jordan Smith sing this song?' You can hear the freedom and joy in it."
The People's Hymnal DVD captures the spiritual power and emotional depth of the original studio album, now enhanced with an intimate visual performance that showcases Smith's remarkable vocal range and moving storytelling. Fans can experience live renditions of gospel classics like "Oh Happy Day," "How Great Thou Art," and "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," along with bonus tracks available exclusively on the DVD and TV special: "I'd Rather Have Jesus" and "It Is Well with My Soul."
Co-produced by GRAMMY-winning songwriter and producer Tommy Sims and award-winning musician Colin Linden, the studio album reimagines beloved hymns with a fresh blend of gospel, soul, and pop. The result is a dynamic, uplifting collection that bridges the traditional and the contemporary - a bold step forward in Smith's evolution as a vocalist and worship leader. (Stream and purchase the album here.)
In addition, Smith takes fans behind the scenes in a YouTube mini-documentary, sharing the inspiration and stories behind this heartfelt project through exclusive studio footage. (Watch here.)
Originally from Harlan, Kentucky, Smith became a household name in 2015 and quickly broke records on the Billboard Christian charts. His vocal talents have earned international acclaim, including having his song "Ashes" recorded by the incomparable Céline Dion for the Deadpool 2 soundtrack. The People's Hymnal marked his fifth studio album and a milestone in a career that continues to inspire.
