Jamie Macdonald Is Joined By Lauren Daigle On New Version Of “Desperate”

Capitol CMG artist Jamie MacDonald releases a reimagined version of her seven week chart topper, "Desperate," now available on all platforms. The track features two-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist Lauren Daigle, adding a fresh and moving dimension to a song that has already touched millions.
Reflecting on the collaboration, she shares that Lauren Daigle has been an important source of encouragement during her journey as a new artist. "Lauren has been a huge support to me behind the scenes," says MacDonald. "Her wisdom and sweet encouragement has made all the difference for me as I navigate some crazy leaps of faith in new places that she knows all too well. It only made sense for us to collaborate. What a joy bomb she is, and a true woman of God who I have looked up to for a long time. She was the perfect fit for 'Desperate' and took it to the next level."
"Desperate" recently spent seven consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian AC and Mediabase Christian AC charts, a milestone that highlights MacDonald's rise as a significant new voice in Christian music. She wrote the song during a time of deep personal loss, following the death of her father, a former professional boxer. MacDonald spent five years as his caregiver, and the song became a personal anthem during her season of grief. The result is a deeply emotional anthem that continues to resonate with listeners navigating pain, faith, and healing.
