Bethel Music Announces New Single, "Holy Song (Live)," Feat. Brooke Ligertwood
Bethel Music announces the release of their latest single, "Holy Song (Live)," featuring Grammy-award winning songwriter, producer, and worship leader Brooke Ligertwood. The song is available today, alongside a live music video. Listen to "Holy Song (Live)" here and watch the music video here.
Recorded live at the Cascade Theatre in Redding, Calif., "Holy Song (Live)" is a poignant ballad that reflects on the joy of salvation and the blessed assurance of knowing Jesus, drawing inspiration from the ancient "Sanctus" chorus referenced in Isaiah 6:3 and Revelation 4:8 - the song that we will sing for all eternity, as we fix our eyes on the glory and majesty of the Lord.
"Holy Song (Live)" revitalizes this cherished hymn, also known as the "Hymn of Victory" or "epinikios hymnos" in Greek, which has been a cornerstone of Christian liturgy for over 1500 years. Bethel Music's Brian Johnson, along with Daniel Bashta, crafted a fresh melody for this timeless chorus, which seamlessly combines historical reverence with modern worship.
Says Ligertwood, "When Brian brought this ancient chorus with a new melody to Jason Ingram and me, the rest of the song flowed forth, with verses that gratefully reflect on 'what joy,' 'what mercy,' and 'what beauty' it is to walk with Christ the Holy One until and after all the earth is filled with His glory. As for church, I personally love it when modern worship leans liturgically - praying the same prayers as those who have gone before us in the Lord, singing a chorus already sung for thousands of years and being sung unto and in eternity. For me personally, this joining together musically in worship is simply one moment in a context of being joined together by many years of worship together off the stage, in actual friendship and relationship."
Bethel Music has been at the forefront of the worship music movement for over a decade, producing songs that resonate with believers worldwide and "Holy Song (Live)" promises to be a powerful addition.
