Anastasya Lea Reveals Why She's Excited About Her New Song "Beautiful Mess"
Worship leader and songwriter Anastasya Lea has just released her new song, "Beautiful Mess." Click HERE to find the song on your favourite streaming site.
Lea is a songwriter, worshipping artist and author. Her songs tell a story including elements of pain and loss, as well as finding hope in a new day. She writes with a lyrical style of processing through emotions and life's questions producing songs interlaced with faith, as well as honesty about the struggle. Her style has earned her awards and what she deems most valuable - a heart to heart connection with her listeners. She hopes her listeners will find the songs relatable and will also be found by Love as they listen along.
Q: Anastasya, thanks for doing this interview with us. Tell us about yourself and how you feel the call to be part of music ministry.
I'm a pretty simple Canadian girl. I love the mountains, green tea, stillness and heart to heart conversations.
The call to music ministry came differently for me than some. When I was pretty young I felt the desire to sing and use my voice for God but I was thinking at home or in the shower only- not on stage. However, He had different plans. Through many situations I found myself leading worship and then writing and singing songs in various venues. It wasn't until more recently that I have really been finding my sound I guess.
Q: How would you describe your style of music?
I write a range of songs, some sharing processing pain and struggle and some that could be considered congregational worship. I hope that each song is relatable and authentic.
Q: You have just released a new single, "Beautiful Mess." Why are you excited about this song?
"Beautiful Mess" is a song that captures a moment when I truly encountered the unconditional love of God at a point in my life where I felt a lot of shame over failure. It describes the way my view of Him and myself changed which I hope others will be able to connect to for themselves.
This song is the 5th single release off a 4 volume album I'm releasing throughout the year called "Chapters". Volume one, "Ruin and Revival" is already out and streaming on all platforms!
Q: Besides your music, you are also an author. How did you become a writer?
Blogging began about the same time releasing music did. It started as just little inspirational posts or scriptures I'd get to share on social media and has grown into a full length blogging platform called "Trueworth". The blog centres around some of the same things as my songs do such as identity, worth and living authentic faith.
Q: Where can our readers go to check out your blog, book, and music?
The blog and music can be found at www.trueworth.ca.The landing page that will tell you all about the music project can be found at: https://trueworth.ca/chapters-album-project/
You can connect with me on FB or IG as well.
