Lucy Grimble Explores the Concept of Divine Timing with "Perfect Timing"

UK worship artist Lucy Grimble unveils "Perfect Timing," the first single from her new album. Releasing in October 2023, the new project is a 10-song studio album. This introductory song explores the concept of Divine timing at work in the details of human lives. Through this warm folk track boasting country accents, she encourages a response that mirrors Jesus' teachings in Matthew 6 where the sparrow and the lily are carefree as they naturally lean fully into trust.
"Whether things happen 'suddenly' or seemingly take a long time, 'late in bloom,' there is beauty in the timing of the Lord because His heart for us is good," Lucy explains.
"Perfect Timing" encourages the Church to lean into rest in the process, which is matched musically, "I wanted a song that conveyed a laid back, rootsy feel to match the groundedness and ease of what we hope it looks like to walk in trust," she continues.
The song also deals with the frustrations along the journey, a move through which Lucy hopes to also minister to and comfort people who might be struggling. Throughout "Perfect Timing," imagery and metaphors from nature are omnipresent (which is a meta- theme from the whole album) to point to a deeper truth. The new single extends an invitation into renewed faith, reminding listeners that God-reliance, and not self reliance, is the foundation of a relationship with Him.
