Phil Wickham Helps Us Find True Joy with "House of the Lord"

Joy is often an elusive word especially in these pandemic times. It's an issue singer and songwriter Phil Wickham has been struggling with. Ultimately finding his joy in the surrender of worship, Wickham pens his journey in the new song "House of the Lord." This song is his third release from Wickham's new upcoming album PW*7.
Wickham recounts how the song came about. "Over the past 12 months I've learned in a deeper way than ever that though happiness comes and goes in Jesus I can always have JOY. Cause though happiness is based on circumstances, joy is rooted in identity. It's based on who God says we are! Though we were once beggars, in Jesus we are ROYALTY.
Though we were once prisoners, in Jesus, we are set free, forgiven, accepted and redeemed! CMON!! Wherever you find yourself today that's a reason to CELEBRATE! Hope you and encouraged lifted up by this song! I hope this song fills you with joy and makes you dance and sing as much as it has for me and my fam. Much love friends!"
The song was written by Jonathan Smith & Wickham. You can listen to the song here.
Lyrics:
We worship the God who was
We worship the God who is
We worship the God who evermore will be
He opened the prison doors
He parted the raging sea
My God, He holds the victory
[Chorus]
There's joy in the house of the Lord
There's joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won't be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There's joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And wе won't be quiet
We shout out Your praisе
(Oh-oh-oh) We shout out Your praise
[Verse 2]
We sing to the God who heals
We sing to the God who saves
We sing to the God who always makes a way
'Cause He hung upon that Cross
Then He rose up from that grave
[Chorus]
There's joy in the house of the Lord
There's joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won't be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There's joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won't be quiet
We shout out Your praise
[Bridge]
We were the beggars
Now we're royalty
We were the prisoners
Now we're running free
We are forgiven, accepted
Redeemed by His grace
Let the house of the Lord sing praise
'Cause we were the beggars
Now we're royalty
We were the prisoners
Now we're running free
We are forgiven, accepted
Redeemed by His grace
Let the house of the Lord sing praise
[Chorus]
There's joy in the house of the Lord (There is joy in the house)
There's joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won't be quiet (Oh yeah!)
We shout out Your praise
There's joy in the house of the Lord (There is joy, there is joy)
Our God is surely in this place
And we won't be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There's joy in the house of the Lord
There's joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won't be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There's joy in the house of the Lord (There is joy, there is joy)
Our God is surely in this place
And we won't be quiet (We won't be quiet)
We shout out Your praise
[Outro]
We shout out Your praise
There is joy in this house
There is joy in this house today
We shout out Your praise
We shout out Your praise
