President Obama Guest Appearance on 'Live with Kelly and Michael' on ABC Friday May 30th
Daytime talk show hosts, Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan shared with their audience on Tuesday that they are headed to Washington to interview President Barack Obama for "Live! with Kelly and Michael." This will be the co-hosts first-ever interview with President Barack Obama and it will take place in the Blue Room of the White House. They are scheduled to discuss the recent "White House Healthy Kids and Safe Sports Concussion Summit," among other topics.
The interview will be taped with the commander-in-chief on Thursday and air Friday, May 30, 2014 on ABC.
During the "White House Healthy Kids and Safe Sports Concussion Summit," the president is set to announce new commitments by the public and private sectors to raise awareness about how to identify, treat and prevent concussions and to conduct research into sports-related concussions to better address that issue. He's set to be joined at the summit by young athletes, parents, coaches, experts, professional athletes and military service members.
Strahan's background as a former New York Giants defensive end and current analyst for Fox NFL Sunday gives him firsthand insight into the importance of sports safety. Strahan set a record for the most sacks in a single season in 2001, and won the Super Bowl with the New York Giants in his final season in 2007.
While this is President Obama's first time on "Live! with Kelly and Michael", he is no stranger to daytime television, having made appearances on both "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "The View". His wife, Michelle Obama, has previously appeared on "Live! With Regis and Kelly."
