JUSTICE FILM FESTIVAL Coming to NYC, Announces 2016 Dates
The fourth annual Justice Film Festival is headed to New York City and will take place September 30 - October 1, 2016 at the Sheen Center for Thought & Culture. All events will take place in the Sheen Center's newly restored 274-seat Loreto Theater on the lower east side of Manhattan.
Feature films and short films are now being accepted, with official selections to be announced in the coming weeks. The Festival will also host "Behind the Lens" talkback sessions with filmmakers after each screening.
Festival passes and individual screening tickets will be available for purchase starting September 1 at www.sheencenter.org.
"We are thrilled to host the Justice Film Festival this year," said David DiCerto, Director of Film, Television, and Mission Outreach for the Sheen Center. "We are confident it will be a fantastic slate of films and believe the festival's mission aligns perfectly with that of the Sheen Center to highlight the true, the good, and the beautiful."
"There isn't a better venue in New York City that we could partner with for this year's Festival," said Andy Peterson, Justice Film Festival director. "The Sheen Center has an outstanding reputation of programming important, conversation-starting artistic experiences. With the rich culture of film and social justice awareness in the city, we hope for a great turnout."
The Justice Film Festival has taken place in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and, most recently, Chicago. Past feature length selections include Poverty, Inc., (Dis)Honesty, The Drop Box, Landfill Harmonic, and A Place at the Table among many others.
