Fayetteville, NC Welcomes The AS ONE PRAYER WALK And Projected 10,000 Participants From Cumberland County April 12
The city of Fayetteville, NC is gearing up for a monumental community event. The AS ONE Prayer Walk (formerly God Belongs In My City - Fayetteville) is predicted to draw 10,000 walkers into the streets of Fayetteville on Saturday, April 12, 2014. The AS ONE Prayer Walk signifies complete and total unity in Hope, and in Faith as one Kingdom under God for this community, the country and for the entire world. AS ONE is not just an event, but is a movement to equip and impact communities all over the country with encouragement, confidence and authority to be positive agents of change.
The AS ONE Prayer Walk is not only for the city of Fayetteville, but is open to surrounding North and South Carolina and Virginia areas. Fayetteville Mayor Nat Robertson officially welcomed the AS ONE Prayer Walk to Fayetteville and all nine mayors and municipalities of North Carolina's Cumberland County: Mayor Chris Rey - Spring Lake; Mayor Jackie Warner - Hope Mills; Mayor Huell Aekins - Wade; Mayor Clifton Turpin - Falcon; Mayor Marie Butler - Linden; Mayor Charles McLaurin - Eastover; Mayor Willie Burnett - Godwin; and Mayor Billy D. Horne - Stedman. Mayor Nat Robertson's Official Letter.
All of Cumberland County's nine mayors will lead the walk which will begin at Fayetteville's Festival Park, then on to Veterans Park and Airborne Museum to pray for those active and non-active in the military and their families. They will stop at City Hall where prayer will be focused on regional civic leadership and law enforcement as well as our nation's leaders. Racial diversity will be the emphasis of prayer at the Market House with the final stop at the Fayetteville Public Library where a special prayer will be directed to education leaders, children and families. The As One Prayer Walk will conclude back at Festival Park for a prayer for all spiritual leaders followed by music, food and fellowship.
The AS ONE Prayer Walk is a silent rally and organizers ask that all participants wear AS ONE T-shirts to signify their proclamation of unity. To register church groups, organizations and families and to purchase T-shirts, connect with AS One on Facebook or visit www.GodInFayetteville.org.
