Creed's Scott Stapp Was on a Psych Hold Before Confessional Video
Frontman of rock band Creed, Scott Stapp was placed on a psych hold by Florida police on Nov. 13. According to TMZ, Stapp was found on the side of the road rambling about someone trying to poison him. Officers from the Madison County Sheriff's Department placed the rocker on a 72-hour psych hold following the stop.
More than a week before Stapp posted a very revealing video to Facebook. The 16-minute video Stapp posted to Facebook on Wednesday in which he said he was sleeping in his truck after large amounts of money went missing from his accounts. He says in the now-removed video that his estranged wife is trying to get him committed, possibly in reference to the psych hold.
"I'm under some kind of pretty vicious attack," he explains in the video. "There are people who have taken advantage and stolen money from me, and they're trying to discredit me, slander me ... Someone had used my information and changed my online passwords to my bank accounts and transferred all the money out of my bank accounts so I had nothing."
A year ago, Stapp released his first Christian album "Proof of Life," an album that he calls the "first no-holds-barred statement of exactly who I am."
The rocker's most personal album to date, he shared just how deeply he had to dig and expose his very core in a press release, Scott said, "In nearly thirty years as a recording artist, I've never been so hands-on with a project. I was involved with every hit of the drumstick, every chord on the keyboard and every note of every guitar solo. My artistic life depended on it. I had to present the incontrovertible proof of my life in a candid and honest way that revealed the real me. If I've been able to do so, the reason is all about recovering the strength of my faith-the faith that lets us see that we are not only protected, but nurtured and preserved by a love that knows no limits."
