iPod Touch 5th Generation vs. 6th Generation: Worth the Wait?
Over the last few months Apple has launched some rally amazing technology pieces including the iPhones, iPads, and now operating platform for them all. In fact, the brand is now gearing up for wearable technology too and Apple Watch will be its first product in the segment.
However, these recent product introductions have not made users forget the much loved iPod series. Where other gadgets are comparatively expensive to have, iPod Touch is something that everyone can use for entertainment. So, is iPod Touch 6 Gen really coming or has Apple planned something big for it?
Apple will not discontinue the series and will rather revive it in a careful manner. That's where a head to head comparison between current generation and next generation of iPods will help.
iPod Touch 5 has been engineered for fashion, fun, and brilliance as an entertainment device. Powered by a dual-core A5 chip, it new offers iOS 8.1 with 4-inch Retina display, five colors options, and iSight camera. All of it is available at $199 for 16 GB model, which is something anyone can afford.
On the other hand, rumored upgrades in iPod 6G will include two bigger screen size models just like iPhone 6. You can expect them to be available in 4.7 and 5.5 inch Retina Display along with better camera and more color options. However, the most important things about these new iPods will be A7 chip along with NFC chip that will make this device faster and Apple Pay ready.
Apple will definitely pump up the storage space to up to 128 GB and all of it will be for entertainment. And when all of this will come at around $249 for 16 GB, things will be way better than current generation of iPod Touch.
Now coming to the release date, unfortunately, it will not be available for preorders before 2015, which means that you cannot get it this holiday season. It is better to wait for the new iPod Touch 6 than purchasing the 5th Generation now when new tech is coming in just a few months.
