Into the Woods Movie Release Date, Reveals, News, Rumors and Updates: Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep Grace Cast of Flick
Disney are having a really busy few years coming up with a whole host of Marvel movies on the timetable along with their own projects. One of the projects that they have coming up is Into the Woods. The movie that the studio has been working on since 2012 and will be the first movie the studio has adapted from a Broadway show. The movie is set for a 25th December 2014 theatrical release. The movie was not originally on 2014 most anticipated movies but as the date draws closer and with movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Rio 2 firmly behind us fans and critics alike are setting their sights won what movies are left in the year. Considering it was adapted from a play people shall be looking to see how they compare and if the movie will be as successful as the Broadway show.
Into the Woods is a clever retelling of the Grimm's brother's tales. Instead of four separate stories: Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk and Little Red Riding Hood they have been married into one with a childless baker seemingly being the glue. The baker has a curse on his family cast by his next door neighbor who happens to be a witch and is asked for four articles that feature in these fairytales; A milky white cow, a yellow strand of hair, a gold shoe and a red cape. If you remember your fairytales well at one point or the other all these characters end u in the woods at some point or other of their stories except Cinderella who in the story runs into the woods to escape the prince who is pursuing her; hence the title. The play had a lot of death in it and Disney is said to have tweaked the screenplay to be less grim.
The cast is star studded from Depp to Streep, the acting quality is sure to be top notch. Rob Marshall is the director while James Lapine worked on the screenplay.
