Tom Clancy's The Division: Updates on Game Play and Release Schedule
The release of the game The Division was announced during the Ubisoft's E3 2013 press conference, along with a seven-minute gameplay demo.
Tom Clancy's The Division is a forthcoming third-person shooter video game, which is influenced by Operation Dark Winter and Directive 51. The game revolves on a disease that spreads like a plague on Black Friday, which results to the fall of the United States in five days.
The player acts as a member of a group known as the Strategic Homeland Division, also called SHD or The Division. The group was formed to fight the threat caused by the outbreak of the disease, with a direct authority from the President of the United States to do whatever it takes to save what has to be saved. The player has to defeat enemies, which are AI controlled. The game also supports a massive multiplayer online situation.
According to IGN, players can also explore various places such as the streets and landmarks of Big Apple, which are now devastated by burgling. They are now dominated by gangs that will do whatever it takes to stay alive. Even the Central Park and the Statue of Liberty are not safe.
Executive Producer Fredrik Rundqvist spoke his thoughts regarding the game in a statement in PSU, "We developed both the engine and the game specifically for this new generation of consoles. So we didn't have any problems at all, it was perfectly built for that. I know a lot of other games are using older engines that they need to port. Ours was built from the ground up. It takes full advantage of the PlayStation, and it's an amazing machine."
In Ausgamers, it is revealed that Ubisoft has unveiled their line for the Australian version of Penny Arcade expo, a popular gaming event. The lineup includes Assassin's Creed Unity, Assasin's Creed Rogue, Far Cry 4, and Just Dance 2015. Tom Clancy's The Division will have a closed doors demo at the Ubisoft Theater.
The video game is developed by Ubisoft Massive, Ubisoft Reflections, and Ubisoft Red Storm under the Tom Clancy brand. Tom Clancy's The Division is set to run for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The game is set to be released in 2015.
